Avallen Apple Calvados

Nose: Hints of vanilla, cinnamon and candied orange. Palate: Very round and full; earthy with notes of dreid fruit and toffee yet showing floral woody and spicy notes. Finish: A long well balanced finish with hints of almond and vanilla.

The depth of colour and complexity of flavour increase all the time the spirit is aged in cask, the colour ranges from pale straw to rich amber. As it becomes darker in colour, gets smoother on the palate whilst aromas and flavours of prunes, violets, fig, honey, butterscotch and rancio develop.

Notes of cherry, poached pears and, of course, baked apples. Aromatics continue with hints of Sauternes, mushrooms and honey. On the palate, a welcome heat is balanced with the sweet, waxy apple flavors and spices not noticed on the nose of cinnamon, allspice, and vanilla.

Some people import and relabel the brandies they love. Others create their own, unique blends. Those routes are all good with us, but they aren’t what we’re about. We’ve taken our love of brandy to the next level, becoming the first proper brandy house and distiller in the UK.

Calvados Originel Lecompte is a blend of young Pays d'Auge Calvados. It is light, fresh, and is full of young apple flavour with an enchanting complexity. It is exceptionally smooth and floral with sweet lemon and honey flavours that are bright and clean. Serve over ice with tonic or ginger ale, mix into an apple martini or into Champagne.

Complex fruity notes, with a unique richness and depth make it perfect on its own or when mixed in simple cocktails.
